Openhouse. It’s not a shop. It’s not and e-commerce. It’s not a temporary store. Openhouse is all of this and much more. The name is meaningful. Openhouse is about launching. Testing. Exhibiting. It was created in 2012 by Francesca Zileri dal Verme, an eclectic aristocratic beautiful lady with an extended vision about fashion and design. She has good taste and a very deep commercial instinct. She knows well that Italy is flowering with thousands of small and very creative artisanal realities. And she wants to make them all know to her community of refined friends and clients.
She decided to stay on the market with a new fresh formula. An openhouse, exactly. Since October, every month she organizes in Torino a new opening. Choosing a non conventional location. This time she choose “Vino n.6”, a fascinating winery down town. Cosy and cool, the perfect place to drink a glass of good wine while looking at the best selection of italian handcrafted bijouterie, jewellery or fashion design.
I confess. I was feeling curious so I decided to have a close look. I was shocked. Francesca selected a rare collection of “raku potteries” hand crafted by Elisabetta Vacca. Her talent is great. I was attracted by the selection of table lamps. From small houses to shining towers or strange shapes. Small, medium, large. All of them with a soft luminecence. But the very best of the exhibition was the handcrafted jewellery line “Pesci che volano”( Flying fishes). A new collection of silver, copper, brass and ebony jewellery coming from Florence. Very posh. Unique. Somehow customized. I admired bracelets, earrings and beautiful rings. Necklaces with pendant fishes. Actually the best I have weared so chic and minimal.
I ‘ve bought a ring. It has a band shape. Brass with a small fish carved on. I was in doubt between this and another with a round email medaillon. May be, next time. On our shop. May be.

A TORINO PESCI CHE VOLANO. E NON È IL PRIMO APRILE
Openhouse. Non è un negozio. Non è un e-commerce. Non è un temporary store. Openhouse è tutto questo e molto di più. Il nome è piuttosto eloquente, si tratta di presentazioni. La sua ideatrice, Francesca Bruno Zileri dal Verme, è un’eclettica signora della “Torino bene”. Creativa quanto basta, dotata di buon gusto e molta concretezza. Si è accorta che la crisi italiana ha stimolato le idee e si è messa a cercarle e, dopo una selezione, a proporle con una formula divertente e inedita: Openhouse, appunto. Un modo simpatico per far vedere agli amici, e agli amici degli amici degli amici, il meglio di fashion e design made in Italy. Ogni mese una presentazione con una formula da Temporary Store, ma in location non convenzionali. Questa volta è toccato a “Vino numero6”, un’affascinante enoteca nel centro storico cittadino, dove gustare un bicchiere di buon vino e appagare l’occhio con le aziende selezionate da Francesca.
Mi sono incuriosita e ho deciso di fare un salto per vedere. Sono rimasta a bocca aperta. Oltre alle ceramiche raku di Elena Vacca, strepitosa la collezione di “Pesci che volano”, una bottega artigianale fiorentina. Nuova, curata, ricca di quell’arte millenaria che ha reso celebre l’Italia in tutto il mondo.
Innanzitutto i materiali: argento, bronzo, smalti, rame. Ma anche le forme: pesci, cuori, spirali o semplicemente metallo punzonato a simulare puntini, righe, strisce. Tutto di una bellezza rara, un po’ antica e allo stesso tempo modernissima.
Ho comprato un anello a fascia, alto sulla falange, con un piccolo pesce inciso che mi ricorda un po’ il pesce dei primi cristiani. Mi sento elegante, affascinante. I prezzi sono accessibili e sarà presto in vendita sul nostro shop.
